Verve has experience in the art of managing public perception. We handle sensitive projects where the emotional buy-in of the public and other interest groups is paramount to the project's success. For example:
Xscape is an unusual shaped building in Milton Keynes housing individual retailers, restaurants and leisure facilities including the UK's largest indoor real snow slope. The slope quite literally gives rise to the unique shape of the Xscape building. The structure itself received widespread negative publicity during planning and construction stages. The opening of the venture was then delayed through a takeover of the parent company behind the project, and Xscape experienced the force of destructive and damaging publicity. Once the new owners appointed Verve to manage the public perception of its intentions we set about identifying its core message. Using our established local and national contacts we began to turn the tide of public opinion by clearly presenting and getting heard the constructive message behind the entire unique project.
Verve identified the key messages which needed to be stated about Xscape. We sought the positive stories and offered them to relevant media. This helped to bring together the various individual tenants within the building and we created events to give a positive image of the venue within local perception. In addition Verve's well developed networking contacts enabled the company to establish the corporate side of Xscape's leisure arm.
Local and regional print, radio, television and web media have all carried the message of Xscape as a venue for positive leisure entertainment. This is as a result of the strategically planned campaign developed and undertaken by a dedicated team at Verve.
