The Brief
The Stables is Milton Keynes' premier live music venue, founded by John Dankworth and Cleo Laine in 1969. In 2000 The Stables unveiled a Ł3 million investment incorporating state-of-the-art technology, impressive facilities and a massive auditorium. For the future success of The Stables it was crucial that both public and business communities were made aware of the new flexible facilities and future events.

Shoosmiths Solicitors, another Verve client, was seeking to reflect the considerable number of their clients within the fashion trade. Accordingly Verve conceived the idea of a charity fashion show at The Stables organized under the auspices of Shoosmiths.

The Strategy
Having conceived the idea, Verve co-ordinated the entire event, bringing in an internationally known fashion show organiser to run the show itself. Using vast networking contacts and experience Verve created the guest list and ensured successful mailing of invitations; arranged interactive beauty demonstrations to run alongside the show itself; and designed an event to highlight the adaptability of The Stables. Via the carefully selected guest list Shoosmiths' name was brought directly before many influential people from a wide geographic area.

The Results
The event was very well received attracting more than 400 people. Shoosmiths were able to entertain clients in style and their brand was put before hundreds of people. The Stables achieved a platform to demonstrate the flexibility and scope of their new building, and directly market future events to a considerable audience. The event raised Ł8,000 for three charities, and the subsequent publicity and media attention attracted by this in turn raised the profile of all clients involved still further.
